Kalm Village is an Art, Craft and Culture Center in the heart of Chiang Mai Old Town.

Through architecture, curated objects, food, workshops, exhibitions, residency programs, and creative events, we aim to empower local artisans, wisdom, and communities by offering spaces and contemporary platforms for expression.

Kalm Village consists of nine buildings arranged around two central courts. Its architecture and interiors celebrate contemporary Asian and traditional Thai design. Like a classical Thai home, Kalm comprises multiple houses that each serve a different function, linked by communal courtyards where families traditionally gather for shared activities.

Our buildings are designed to be 2-3 stories to respect and reflect the surrounding context. The building materials are mainly dark grey bricks and up-cycled teak wood which came from old houses, pulled apart and reassembled into our design.

Kalm Village designs programming that is interwoven with art and cultural-related programs and activities for a seamless learning environment that has something for everyone and is suitable for our contemporary lifestyle. Through daily activities, hands-on workshops, and shared stories, we hope to be a small part to inspire, ignite curiosity, and foster an organic appreciation for art, craftsmanship, and culture.
